Too many pattern attempt in Samsung Galaxy S Duos GT-S7562, Forgot gmail Password, How to unlock?

Solved 1 Answers 37617 Views Gadgets

I purchased Samsung Galaxy S Duos GT-S7562 model phone 2-3 months ago. The person who sold me the phone, is not in contact with me and it was a new box piece. He himself set the gmail ID by creating it for me and he used a password, which I don't know. I was using the swipe to unlock feature in my mobile locking screen.

Now one of my friend tried to unlock the pattern without my permission to get access to my phone. But after many try, he locked my phone and now the unlocking screen says- "too many wrong attempts". There is an option to unlock the device is by entering the google ID and password. But I don't remember the password. Is there any other way to recover my device and unlock it without using the googl eID and password? I turned it off and on again and again but still no help.

Should I take it to the samsung store or service centre? Do I need it to connect to my PC via Samsung Kies software and reset the lock?

You have to wipe data/factory settings by going to the recovery mode.

  1. Turnoff your phone (confirm the turnoff, you will feel a vibration)
  2. Press Volume up + home + power buttons together until you hear a vibration or a samsung logo comesup. This might not happen in your first attempt, keep on trying using these keys.
  3. Now you need to select "wipe data/factory reset" option, later select Yes to confirm it. You should use volume keys to move the options/selections and press home key to select/enter the options.
  4. Once after this, your device will be rebooted and your device will start freshly. You need to configure all settings again and this time create a gmail ID and note down the password somewhere safe, so that you will not have to reset the phone again if you forget the password.
  5. Your files in the sd card and will be there safe, but all your Facebook Login ID, Google ID, browser settings, apps will be wiped! For safety, better you take backup of your app data and other files from sd card to your PC using a card reader.
